 James McCreary (Rev John McCrary's dad) was an Elder in the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Statesville


The Bethany Presbyterian Church north of Statesville, NC is still in existance and is recorded as one of the early members.  James was an elder in this congregation when it was formed.  He lived next to William McCreary as shown on William Sharpes map.James attended a meeting with Reverend Hall in Statesville  to formally organized the Bethany Church.
